I mean, how could you not just love that little face? At bedtime, when he takes a few minutes out of his busy schedule of complaining to laugh and giggle hysterically at being stripped and reclothed in pajamas, his contentment makes up for all the crankiness of the day. And this morning in that place between dreaming and waking I caught a glimpse of his sleeping body all stretched out in the first rays of sunlight. His little belly rising and falling in such perfect rhythm and looking so very snuggly in his ducky sleeper. I know he is still the sweetest boy, and he puts up with a lot from his big sisters. They make his mama very busy. And mostly he just wants his mama all to himself. (Can you blame him? I am super cool.)
This has been a big month for HB. We went on our first roadtrip and have had lots of visitors. He took his first dip in the lake. And he is singing and talking up a storm. It's nice to hear his little voice.
Dear Henry,
You're such a trooper, and I really appreciate it. I know this month has been a hectic one, and we've dragged you around with us to quite a few places. I hope you don't mind too much that we just want you to come with us on all our adventures.
And you have become quite the adventurer yourself, always trying to grab things and make daring escapes. You even took your first big tumble this month. But you seem to be made of pretty sturdy stuff, and you recovered well. I hope that is a trait you take with you into your boyhood.
My favorite part of this past month was taking you on your introductory lake house trip. I've loved that place since I was a little kid, and there are few things as wonderful as sharing it with you and your sisters. You had so much fun being doted on by all your aunts and uncles and grandparents. It makes it a little hard for you to come home and just get a normal amount of attention, but you do your best.
You are a little sweetheart. I only hope this next month brings you more coordination and control so you can be a little bit more of a happy camper. We love having you here, and hope you don't mind being with us, even if it does mean that your sisters are always assaulting you with toys and pacifiers and blankets and all sorts of things they think will make you happy.
I love you so much I can't even stand it.
Love,
Mommy
